COPPER GUTTERING FAQs
How long does copper guttering last?
Copper guttering can last well over 100 years. The natural patina that develops over time actually protects the metal, making it stronger and more resilient to the elements.
Does copper guttering need much maintenance?
Very little. Unlike painted or plastic systems, copper doesn’t peel, fade or rust. Once installed, it looks after itself. A simple check for leaves or blockages now and then is all it really needs.

How much does copper guttering cost?
Copper is an investment. While the initial cost is higher than plastic or painted systems, its longevity and zero maintenance mean it is more cost-effective in the long run.
Will copper clash with the look of my building?
Not at all. Fresh copper has a warm golden tone that gradually softens into browns before developing that distinctive green patina. This evolving finish blends beautifully with brick, stone, slate and timber, enhancing rather than clashing.
Can I get the aged look straight away?
Yes. We offer a pre-aged copper option that creates the appearance of decades of weathering in minutes, without reducing quality or lifespan. Perfect for heritage projects where continuity of style is essential.

Is copper guttering suitable for modern homes?
Absolutely. While it looks stunning on period and listed buildings, copper also works brilliantly on contemporary homes. Its evolving finish adds character and contrast to clean modern lines.
Is copper environmentally friendly?
Yes. Copper is 100 percent recyclable and requires no painting or chemical treatments during its life. Choosing copper means choosing a sustainable, low-maintenance material.
Is it difficult to install copper guttering?
Not at all. Copper guttering is installed in much the same way as other systems. We supply all the necessary components, and experienced installers can fit it with ease.
Will copper stain my walls or roof?
As copper develops its patina, there may be a small amount of run-off at first. This quickly settles down and the patina then acts as a stable protective layer, stopping further leaching.
