A message from our MD
"Every metal gutter we produce starts life in our workshop here in Hampshire.
For more than twenty years I have been passionate about designing and manufacturing copper, zinc and stainless steel rainwater systems that protect homes, heritage buildings and architectural projects across the UK and around the world.
When we started Metal Gutta,we had one simple ambition. We wanted to prove that British manufacturing could produce beautifully engineered metal guttering that would stand the test of time.
Back then, many products were imported with little control over quality or consistency. We believed we could do better by manufacturing ourselves, investing in skilled people and continually improving every product we made.
That belief still shapes our business today.
We are proud to be the only manufacturer of copper guttering in the UK, with around 95 percent of our products manufactured in house by our own experienced team. By keeping almost every stage of production under one roof, we maintain complete control over quality, accuracy and craftsmanship.
For me, this has never simply been about making guttering.
It is about creating products that become part of a building's story. Products that will still be performing decades from now, while looking every bit as impressive as the day they were installed.
Whether you are restoring a listed building, building your dream home or specifying products for a commercial development, I hope this page gives you a better understanding of who we are, how we work and why so many customers continue to place their trust in Metal Gutta."
Alan, Managing Director

Why manufacture in Britain?
Manufacturing in Britain allows us to do something many companies simply cannot.
We stay close to every stage of production.
That means we can inspect every component, improve designs, respond quickly to customer feedback and produce bespoke products when required.
It also allows us to support skilled British manufacturing while reducing the need to transport products around the world before they even reach our customers.
For us, manufacturing locally is not just about where our products are made.
It is about taking responsibility for everything that leaves our workshop.
From importer to manufacturer
Like many businesses, our journey started by supplying products manufactured elsewhere.
It quickly became clear that if we wanted to offer the quality our customers deserved, we needed greater control over the manufacturing process.
That decision transformed our business.
Over the years we have invested heavily in machinery, tooling, research and product development, allowing us to manufacture almost every component ourselves. Today our Hampshire factory produces guttering systems that are supplied across the United Kingdom and exported worldwide.
Every improvement we have made has been driven by one simple question.
How can we make this product even better?

"I believe every business has a story worth telling, and ours is built on craftsmanship, innovation and people who genuinely care about what they do. My role is to share that story in a way that helps our customers make informed decisions, understand the value of quality manufacturing and feel confident they are choosing products that will stand the test of time."
Rosalie, Marketing Director
More than just guttering
Rainwater systems are often overlooked, yet they perform one of the most important jobs on any building.
A well designed system quietly protects roofs, walls, foundations and landscaping from water damage every single day.
Choosing the right material also makes a significant difference.
Copper naturally develops its distinctive protective patina, giving every installation its own unique character.
Zinc forms a natural weathered surface that protects itself throughout its lifetime.
Stainless steel offers exceptional durability with a clean, contemporary appearance.
Unlike plastic alternatives, these materials are designed to last for generations, not just years.

Made in Hampshire.
Installed across the world.
Built to last for generations.

How we make our products
Every order begins with carefully selected raw materials before moving through our manufacturing process.
From roll forming and fabrication to welding, finishing and inspection, each component is produced with precision before leaving our workshop.
By manufacturing almost everything ourselves, we can ensure every product meets the standards we expect before it reaches your project.
That attention to detail is one of the reasons architects, builders, roofing specialists and homeowners continue to choose Metal Gutta.
"Quality is never an accident. It is built into every single component we make."
Matthew, Operations Manager
