NOT ALL CURVED GUTTERS ARE CREATED EQUAL
Understanding True Radius Gutters vs Irregular Curve Gutters.
At Metal Gutta we manufacture both gutters formed to a true radius and gutters designed to follow an irregular curve.
A true radius gutter follows a consistent arc. To create this, we use short sections of gutter which are mitre cut, then TIG welded (for copper) or soldered (for zinc and stainless steel) into lengths of around 2 to 2.4 metres. This method provides a neat, accurate curve that can be repeated consistently along a building.
Irregular curves, however, are a different challenge. These are shaped to follow a curve that is not constant, perhaps due to the architectural design or the way the roofline has been formed. Each piece must be individually adjusted before mitre cutting and welding or soldering. This process requires more time, skill, and input from our team. Naturally, that additional craftsmanship and labour is reflected in the cost.
Whether your project requires a clean, uniform radius, a bespoke irregular curve, or even a convex camber ( outwards or inwards, but upwards too ) we ensure every gutter is produced with precision and care, so that the end result both performs and looks exceptional.

Drawing or Template
We can produce gutters from 'as built' drawings or using a template of your fascia
* Templates may incur additional charges if not a true radius

Mitre Cut & Joined
Profiles are mitre cut in to circa 250mm sections and then either TIG welded or soldered in to lengths around 2400mm long

Easy to install
Easy to install with overlap joints on our Half round and butt joints on our Box and Ogee profiles

Intersections
Sections running in to different radius sections of a different dimension, a straight or a corner

Irregular Curves
Not all curves follow a true radius, so using a template of your building we can produce irregular curved sections
* Irregular curves will incur an additional charge
Out, In, Up or Down
Most buildings curve outward (convex) however if yours curves inward (concave), upwards ( camber ) or maybe both, we can still help
True Radius
Smooth, Repeatable, Efficient
-
Consistent curve throughout
-
Made from short sections, mitre cut and welded or soldered into 2.0 – 2.4m lengths
-
Quicker to produce, uniform result

Irregular Curves
and Cambers
Bespoke, Skilled, Time-Intensive
-
Curve changes along the length
-
Curve goes downwards or upwards
-
Each section individually cut, adjusted, and welded or soldered
-
More time, skill, and input needed, higher cost
