COPPER DOWNPIPES
Natural elegance, engineered strength
Our copper downpipes are the perfect companion to our guttering range, offering both function and flair. Supplied in round or square profiles, each length is made from 100 percent natural 0.6 mm copper and will develop a unique patina as it weathers. No painting. No peeling. Just honest, low maintenance beauty that lasts for generations.
Materials & durability
-
We use high quality architectural copper (typically C101 / 99.9 % pure copper), selected for its excellent corrosion resistance, structural integrity and long service life.
-
Over time the copper surface develops a darkening patina (turning to greens and deeper tones), which acts as a protective oxide layer, inhibiting further corrosion.
-
Copper is inherently robust, meaning gutters resist cracking, warping or degradation from freeze / thaw cycles and UV exposure.

Sizes and Profiles
Choose from two classic styles, both supplied in 2.4 metre lengths for ease of handling and installation:
-
Round:
-
Standard: 80 mm diameter
-
Large: 100 mm diameter
-
-
Square:
-
Standard: 80 mm × 80 mm
-
Each pipe is swaged at one end for a snug push-fit connection, no sealant or soldering required.
RANGE OF COMPONENTS
Key features & benefits
-
Aesthetic appeal; the copper will develop a unique aged finish over time, giving character to heritage or contemporary architecture.
-
Long life; when maintained, copper guttering can last for many decades, outperforming many other metals.
-
Low maintenance; once patinated, surface upkeep is minimal with occasional rinsing to remove leaves or grit.
-
Complete system; we supply complementary items like bends, corners, outlets, brackets, and accessories to ensure the system is cohesive and watertight.
Fixing and Installation
Each downpipe should be fixed with at least three clips per 2.4 m length, or one every 1.5 metres, with one near the top, one at the bottom, and one in between.
Clips can be spaced further off the wall using our brass spacers to accommodate stonework, render or deep fascias. Spacers can be stacked for a total stand-off of up to 15 cm.
Downpipes can be cut on site using a hacksaw or metal nibblers. Always install with the swaged (female) end uppermost to keep a clean line and good water flow.
Decorative Options
If you’re looking to add some architectural flair, we also offer:
-
Copper hopper heads; available in traditional and contemporary styles, all with 80 mm outlets
-
Rain chains and cups; for decorative discharge into ponds, planters or water butts. Supplied in modular lengths to suit your drop height
These features are particularly suited to garden buildings, porches, or glazed structures where visible copper details make a real impact.
